2015 Jayco Redhawk: what breaks, and at what mileage
What breaks on the 2015 Jayco Redhawk
Only 2 defect reports have been filed with NHTSA about the 2015 Jayco Redhawk, which is too few to compute mileage percentiles or a risk score. The reports reported airbag warning light or occupant sensor fault.

How reports accumulate
Every report with an odometer reading, cumulative, from 0 to 200,000 miles. A curve that climbs early is a car with early problems, whatever its total.

| Failure mode | System | Reports | With reading | 25th | Median | 75th | Per 1,000 | Typical repair | Severity |

| Other body or interior problem | body | 1 | 1 | — | 2k | — | 2.2 | $200–$2,000 | Moderate |
Rate per 1,000 uses a fleet-size estimate derived from recall paperwork for this exact model year. It is a lower bound. Repair costs are typical independent-shop ranges for the failure, not figures from these reports.

Airbag warning light or occupant sensor fault
The SRS warning light remained on constantly. Had it repaired at 4984 miles. Ford repair facility found chaffed/frayed wiring where unprotected wires were routed by the coach manufacturer through or near an aluminum panel to the left of the drivers seat . Repair report and photo are available. This caused the failure of the SRS. No injury or accident occurred but the possibility of fire and no airbag in a crash could have resulted. *tr
Other body or interior problem
Since the purchase of this class c rv I have noticed cracks forming on three occasions on the outside fiberglass of the over cab area. The cracks formed on top close to the edge of the cab on both sides around halfway from the roof line and the curved area. Instead of some random fiberglass cracks this cracks appear to me more of a stress related problem or some type of structural defect in design as they appeared directly across from each other on both sides of the cab and re-appear after repairs. The first cracks were noted in feb 2015 on the driver side. The second set were noted in mar 2015 on the passenger side. The latest cracks were noted in dec 2015 and are located near the same area as the ones noticed in feb 2015. This cracks were found during vehicle inspection prior to use.
Recalls on the 2015 model year
NHTSA has issued 3 recall campaigns covering the 2015 Jayco Redhawk, affecting an estimated 815 vehicles. A recall is a different kind of evidence from a complaint: it is the regulator and the manufacturer agreeing that something has to be fixed, and the fix is free for as long as the car exists.
The campaigns cover visibility:power window devices and controls, equipment and equipment:recreational vehicle/trailer. Whether the work was actually done on the car in front of you is a question only the VIN can answer, and the manufacturer or NHTSA will answer it free.
Recalls also distort complaint counts. Publicity about a campaign reminds owners that complaining is possible, so reports for a recalled component often spike after the recall rather than before it.

Every year of the Jayco Redhawk
Scores compare each year against other cars of the same model year, so a low number on an older car is a real result and not an artefact of age.
What the reports on file say
The complaints recorded against the 2015 Jayco Redhawk are airbag warning light or occupant sensor fault (1 report, around 2k miles) and other body or interior problem (1 report, around 2k miles). With a sample this size these are anecdotes rather than a pattern, and they are shown because somebody looking at this exact car would rather see them than nothing.
Why this page is short
A model year needs about 8 reports before percentiles mean anything, and this one does not have them. Complaint volume tracks how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road, so a thin page usually means a rare car, a new car, or a car whose owners do not file.
Where this comes from. Every figure above is computed from NHTSA owner complaints and recall records for this exact make, model and year. Complaints are voluntary and self-selected, so treat counts as a floor. The methodology page writes out each formula, and the same numbers are available as JSON.
