2014 Infiniti Qx70: what breaks, and at what mileage
What breaks on the 2014 Infiniti Qx70
Only 5 defect reports have been filed with NHTSA about the 2014 Infiniti Qx70, which is too few to compute mileage percentiles or a risk score. The reports reported other fuel system problem.

How reports accumulate
Every report with an odometer reading, cumulative, from 0 to 200,000 miles. A curve that climbs early is a car with early problems, whatever its total.

Rate per 1,000 uses a fleet-size estimate derived from recall paperwork for this exact model year. It is a lower bound. Repair costs are typical independent-shop ranges for the failure, not figures from these reports.
What owners wrote
Verbatim from NHTSA complaint narratives, trimmed for length. The odometer reading is the one the owner gave.
Other lighting problem
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 infinti qx70. The contact stated that the fog lamp lenses shuddered. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician stated that the failure was caused by road debris. The technician mentioned that the light assembly needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and current mileage was 900.
Other visibility problem
There is a rain-detecting auto wiper function setting with this car. When using the auto setting, the wipers will fire randomly when there is no moisture whatsoever. This can happen in hot or cold weather and regardless of whether the car is moving or stationary. While I have reported this problem multiple times to infiniti, they have not addressed the issue.
Recalls on the 2014 model year
NHTSA has issued 1 recall campaign covering the 2014 Infiniti Qx70, affecting an estimated 12,144 vehicles. A recall is a different kind of evidence from a complaint: it is the regulator and the manufacturer agreeing that something has to be fixed, and the fix is free for as long as the car exists.
The campaigns cover fuel system, gasoline. Whether the work was actually done on the car in front of you is a question only the VIN can answer, and the manufacturer or NHTSA will answer it free.
Recalls also distort complaint counts. Publicity about a campaign reminds owners that complaining is possible, so reports for a recalled component often spike after the recall rather than before it.
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
133,592 vehicles 2014-11-28- Defect
- Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 Nissan Juke, 2012-2013 Infiniti M56, QX56, and 2014-2015 Infiniti Q70 (V8 engine vehicles only), and QX80 vehicles. The fuel pressure sensors may not have been sufficiently tightened during production. As a result, the fuel pressure sensor may loosen with vehicle usage and cause a fuel leak.
- Consequence
- A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could cause a vehicle fire.
- Remedy
- Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will re-torque the fuel pressure sensors free of charge. The recall began on January 25, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
Recall work is free at a franchised dealer regardless of the car's age. Check the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls before assuming it was done.
Every year of the Infiniti Qx70
Scores compare each year against other cars of the same model year, so a low number on an older car is a real result and not an artefact of age.
What the reports on file say
The complaints recorded against the 2014 Infiniti Qx70 are other fuel system problem (1 report, around 68k miles), other lighting problem (1 report, around 900 miles), other visibility problem (1 report, around 25k miles) and other body or interior problem (1 report). With a sample this size these are anecdotes rather than a pattern, and they are shown because somebody looking at this exact car would rather see them than nothing.
Why this page is short
A model year needs about 8 reports before percentiles mean anything, and this one does not have them. Complaint volume tracks how many cars were sold and how long they have been on the road, so a thin page usually means a rare car, a new car, or a car whose owners do not file.
Where this comes from. Every figure above is computed from NHTSA owner complaints and recall records for this exact make, model and year. Complaints are voluntary and self-selected, so treat counts as a floor. The methodology page writes out each formula, and the same numbers are available as JSON.
